What's New... April '09

2008 was quite a year! I opened Body By Design on June 1st. Body By Design is a personal training studio in Muskoka where people come for one-on-one exercise, nutritional counselling and yoga classes.

Later in June, I entered my very first fitness competition at the SAF Model Search in London and was immediately hooked. I was truly inspired by all the beautiful and courageous women. I set a goal to do progressively better at each competition I entered and was able to meet that goal. 

At the UFE Halloween Mayhem event in October, I finished in the top 10 in the Fitness Model category. In November, I placed third in the SAF Model Search held in Ottawa (Fitness Model category). Then later in November, at the UFE Elite show in Hamilton, I placed third in the Fitness Model category and first in the Bikini Model category. I could never have dreamed that I would win a competition only 5 months after my very first one!

Another big thing that happened in 2008 was that I got engaged on September 1st to Kevin Boyes and we were married February 24th on the beach in Punta Cana! It was an amazing wedding, with 30 of our friends and family there to share the special day with us.

2009 promises to be another exciting year. With competitions planned for April, June, October and November, I have lots of work to do to stay on my game!
